Genetic Improvement in Sheep and Goat Project
貝里斯羊隻品種改良計畫 單位：財團法人國際發展合作基金會(International Cooperation and Development Fund)執行期間：2015/12/02 - 2019/12/01羊隻易於飼養管理且飼養規模彈性大、投資門檻低，因此貝里斯積極發展養羊產業。惟貝國國內種羊品種不良，致生產效率低，無法滿足市場需求量；爰本計畫期能改良貝國羊隻品種以增加羊隻生產量，進而促進養羊產業之經濟活動。貝國羊隻生產力低落之主要原因為羊隻品種不佳，核心問題成因在於現有供應農民種羊之中央農場國家種羊場飼養區域甚小，缺乏基本設施及儀器設備，導致種羊繁衍效率差，生產數量無法滿足農戶購買需求；另飼養管理及選育技術不佳，未能保持品種純系，進而影響種羊產量及品質。農戶亦因缺乏資訊交流管道及飼養管理知識，牧場及養殖管理效率低落，其產量及品質亦較差。
